Dark ruby red. Aromas of violet flowers, red plum, lilac & sage herb. Rich flavors of black cherry & black plum with a spicy finish.
Full body with ample chewy but smooth tannins.
Oak-aging adds smoke, toast & baking spices.
Mainly used as a blending grape in small amounts in red Bordeaux blends, adding color, tannin and floral aromas. Limited production as a varietal.
