Medium Ruby. Aromas of fresh red cherry, wild flowers, dried herbs & roses. Flavors of fresh & dried cherry with some black licorice.
Particularly earthy & with distinctive volcanic created minerality.
Both light & bold, a seeming contradiction that makes them so interesting & unique.
Named after & planted on the Etna volcano on the Eastern side of Sicily.
A blend of native grapes Nerello Mascalese & Nerello Cappuccio, but can include up to 10% Nocera.
This same blend is used in Faro wines.
Very versatile with food. Poultry, pork, salmon & tuna pair well, & a wide variety of pastas. Tomato sauces are a natural pairing.
